Batalla Cares continues its mission in Cebu, bringing free wheelchairs to kababayans who need mobility assistance but may not have the means to purchase one.
As part of its continuing outreach, Batalla Cares distributed wheelchairs to beneficiaries in Gabi, Cordova, helping bring much-needed mobility support closer to families in the community.
Tuloy-tuloy ang pamamahagi ng libreng wheelchair. Hindi lahat ay may kakayahang bumili, ngunit lahat ay karapat-dapat na makagalaw nang may dignidad, kalayaan, at pag-asa.

This photo was taken during our wheelchair distribution in Duero, Bohol — you’re on the right, masked and in shades, but your courage is unmistakable.
Today we honor you for filing the administrative complaint that led to the Office of the Ombudsman ordering the dismissal from service of Duero Mayor Al Cadorniga Taculad for conflict of interest and grave misconduct.
In its decision dated September 1, 2026, the Ombudsman found that Mayor Taculad violated Section 7(b)(1) and Section 9 of RA 6713, along with RA 3019 and the Local Government Code, after his own firm, Altacs Construction, was awarded two municipal infrastructure contracts while he was in office.
The ruling notes the company received a total of P76,216,379.77 for those projects, and that the mayor failed to divest his business interest as required by law. He has since stepped down in compliance with the order.
It takes real bravery to stand up to an incumbent. You chose accountability over silence, and Duero is better for it.
Mabuhay ka, Mapay. Thank you for proving that one citizen can make a difference.

In the spirit of faith, community, and generosity, Batalla Cares and Serbisyong Carcueva joined the annual fiesta celebration in honor of Señor San Nicolas de Tolentino, bringing smiles to residents and fiesta-goers through a simple act of sharing.
As part of the celebration, ice cream and bread were distributed to members of the community, adding sweetness and warmth to the festivities.

Batalla Cares, in partnership with local community leaders, successfully distributed 10 wheelchairs to residents of Gloria, Oriental Mindoro, providing much-needed mobility assistance to beneficiaries who require additional support in their daily lives.
The initiative was made possible through the generosity of Dr. Carlo M. Batalla, Ph.D., with Hon. Nick Orlando Jamilla serving as a bridge between Batalla Cares and the local community.
The organizers also expressed their appreciation to the Sangguniang Bayan and the barangay officials for their support and assistance in identifying and reaching beneficiaries.
The 10 recipients came from various barangays across Gloria, including Agos, Kawit, Maligaya, Manguyang, Papandugin, Maragooc, Tambong, and Guimbunan.

BATALLA CARES, a nationwide humanitarian initiative, announces the loading and distribution of wheelchair units to beneficiaries in the towns of Sipocot and Libmanan, Camarines Sur. The operation is being supervised today by Engr. Peter Carcueva, the national coordinator for Batalla Cares.

Today we celebrate a milestone in mobility and hope. Since 2016, BATALLA CARES has given over 10,000 wheelchairs to indigent PWDs in Camarines Sur. Now, with the partnership of my good friend Bong Rodriguez — who won in 4 of 5 districts when he ran against LRay Villafuerte in the 2022 gubernatorial race — and the support of PCSO Chairman Mel Robles, we are honored to distribute 2,000 more wheelchairs to deserving beneficiaries across the province.
For these 2,000 individuals, a wheelchair means independence, dignity, and a greater chance to take part in family and community life. We remain committed to turning compassion into concrete action, one wheelchair and one changed life at a time.

Today, we successfully distributed wheelchairs in the Island Province of Catanduanes, made possible through the wonderful cooperation of our good friend Gov. Patrick Azanza and Virac Mayor Posoy Sarmiento. This marks our 2nd distribution in the province—the first was during Gov. Azanza’s tenure as president of Catanduanes State University.

Batalla Cares Relief Operations
Batalla Cares carried out a series of relief operations across Cebu, delivering essential assistance to communities affected by Bagyong Tino.
The first stop was in Cansaga, Consolacion, Cebu, where relief goods were distributed to families impacted by the storm, helping address their immediate needs.
The team then proceeded to Isla Verde, Barangay Dunguan, Danao City, Cebu, providing support and much-needed supplies to residents as they begin their recovery efforts.
The third and final stop took place in Barangay Cotcot, Liloan, Cebu, where Batalla Cares continued its outreach by extending aid to more affected households.
Through these efforts, Batalla Cares remains committed to bringing timely relief and support to communities in need, reinforcing its mission of compassion and service.

Our team arrived in Cebu yesterday to prepare 2 days of relief distribution for Typhoon Tino-affected families in Talisay, Liloan, Consolacion, Danao, and Balanban. Today, we’ll rollout relief efforts starting at 8:00 AM and winding down around 6:00 PM, with the same schedule for tomorrow. Excited to be in Cebu today to join Batalla Cares Philippines and Crimes and Corruption Watch International – Cebu Chapter, led by Engr. Shaly Carcueva-Molon, as we repack groceries with bags of rice and bottled water for distribution to earthquake victims in Bogo City. Our shared goal remains to help 1,000 families with essential supplies and wheelchairs for those in need. Wishing everyone affected strength, resilience, and a speedy recovery during this challenging time.

We’re thrilled to share that Batalla Cares Philippines successfully distributed 170 wheelchairs to indigent beneficiaries in Laguna, held today at SM San Pablo City. A big shout-out to the new Mayor of San Pablo City, Mayor Najie Gapandaga, who graced the event. It was wonderful reconnecting with a former golf mate and tennis partner—and a fellow provincial board member—making this day extra special.

Seeing the smiles of our PWD recipients reminded us how small acts of kindness can warm the heart and strengthen our cherished old friendships. Thank you to everyone who joined and supported this worthy cause!

It was a full circle moment for us at the National Press Club. We turned over a number of wheelchairs to the NPC, a gesture I’m proud to hand over to the club’s ongoing efforts to support accessibility and inclusion for all. Grateful for the warm welcome from the NPC family and for the support of everyone who made this possible.

I topped off the night with a spectacular live concert bannered by icons Noel Cabahug and Lolita Carbon. What a treat to enjoy great music and great company in one memorable night!

BatallaCares Philippines is proud to announce the arrival of a fresh shipment of wheelchairs intended for indigent beneficiaries in the province of Nueva Viscaya for distribution on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. This is part of our continuing program to support Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and help them live more independent, dignified lives.

In a significant move to promote mobility and independence, the non-profit organization BatallaCares Philippines is set to host its fourth annual Wheelchair Distribution Program on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at SM City San Pablo.

The event, slated to begin at 11:00 AM, will see 170 brand new wheelchairs distributed to pre-selected persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens from across the city. This initiative marks BatallaCares’ continued commitment to enhancing the quality of life for community members facing mobility challenges.

The large-scale donation drive was organized in collaboration with key local leaders who proactively reached out to BatallaCares to bring the initiative to San Pablo. The event highlights a strong partnership between civic organizations and local government units dedicated to public service.

Recently, BatallaCares Philippines successfully distributed wheelchairs to families in need at SM City Seaside Cebu, a charitable event made possible through the stellar leadership and coordination of Visayas coordinator Engr. Peter Carcueva and Cebu province coordinator Engr. Shaly Carcueva-Molon, and facilitated by the generous support of SM City Seaside Mall, which provided the venue and accommodations for this life-changing effort that promises to grant greater mobility and independence to members of the local community.

Carlo Batalla, citing the severe neglect of persons with disabilities (PWDs) as a national issue, claims this sector is largely ignored by politicians who see no electoral value in them due to mobility constraints that limit their ability to campaign and vote, which is why BatallaCares has made PWDs its primary focus to fill the critical gap in government support.

Batalla Cares Philippines continues its wheelchair distribution program, bringing mobility, dignity, and hope to 1,000 indigent beneficiaries across Provinces of: Cebu, Laguna, Iloilo, Cagayan, Camarines Norte, Masbate and Catanduanes and surrounding communities. We are deeply grateful to our local partners and volunteers, who make this work possible.
